Greece: Anarchist prisoner on hunger strike against being tortured with isolation for a month

Rami Syrianos, Anarchist political prisoner in Nigrita Prison (Serres, Greece) has initiated a hunger strike against the arbitrary punishment/torture of being held in isolation for a whole month.

Syrianos, whose trial is to be held (after several postponements) on May 21st. After the last postponement, when he was moved between prisons, he rejected the humiliating strip and anal search, and he was punished with isolation and then with "disciplinary prison transfer" to take place on March 28th.

While legally the isolation cannot be held for more than 10 days, in Syrianos' case he's been isolated for a whole month already, reason why he has initiated the hunger strike in protest.

A social prisoner by the initials C.D., has joined him in solidarity against these abuses. He was punished with isolation for a night and threatened with further penalties, threats that did not materialize.

Syrianos, who is on trial for the blurry case of the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, has not been able to walk outside his confinement cell, except for brief 30 mins corridor strolls, in all this time.
