Basque political activists acquitted (for a change)

The Basque citizens on trial at the Spanish neofascist political tribunal, Audiencia Nacional (New Inquisition), for being politically active at the prisoner-support organization Askatasuna (Freedom, recently self-dissolved) and Democracy Three Million (D3M) another attempt to enable all democratic options in the Southern Basque Country, were acquitted today.

The victims of this Nth anti-Basque political trial were Amparo de Lasheras, Arantza Urkaregi, Eli Zubiaga, Iker Rodrigo, Imanol Nieto, Agurtzane Solaberrieta, Hodei Egaña, Unai Berrostegieta and Zuriñe Zorrotua for D3M and José Antonio Munduate and Xabier Isasa for Askatasuna.

Other two accused, Fernando Antia and Aitor Liguerzana, saw the state attorney dropping the accusation earlier.

The victims of this case of political persecution leaving the fascist tribunal

They were arbitrarily accused of belonging or collaborating with terrorist organization, which was false (all their activities by which they were on trial were political), under the capricious Spanish judiciary construct of "all is ETA" by which any politically or socially active Basque can be accused of "terrorism". A doctrine that has been active for the last 14 years or so, creating a political and legal context almost totally indistinct from Fascism in the Spanish-occupied Basque Country.

Their declarations have been in the line of the Basque Nation being the winner of this trial or that they hope that this one is the last political trial.
